- The quest does never end. If she stopped giving you contracts, maybe you forgot a step in the quest? Did you kill the victim before speaking to her again? Is the quest still in your quest journal? If it's missing, then I don't know for sure what happened. But you're lucky if it's gone, I'm only bothered by an unfinishable quest. It might also be a bug.Loading editor

Is there any point at all for doing the last missions for the Dark Brother Hood? The last mission is repeating but does it ever end or is it just a continuous source of gold that you can farm over and over again with ease? To tell the truth I just want it gone from the quest bar because the night mother is continuing to nag me until I do the mission. And even then it irritates me as it becomes the next quest available immediately.

I had limited success with the console command:
On one computer where I used it the quest came back right away. On another it failed, then I got it to work (I think) with careful timing: first I completed the quest, then I entered 'resetquest DBrecurring' quickly in the console before it had a chance to repeat. I haven't test extensively, so I can't swear timing was the fix, but that worked for me.
For a less touchy solution, PC users can download a mod from the Skyrim Nexus that disables the quest.
- A number of people have endorsed dark brotherhood forever moved to misc, but it just moves the quest to the Misc category and I wanted it completely gone.
- Stop The Dark Brotherhood Forever Quest From Returning was uploaded more recently and worked perfectly for me. Note that this just keeps it from recurring once it's completed. To force it to complete you can either fulfill the contract or go into the console and enter: setstage dbrecurring 200

I will never be gone, its another one of those radiant quests that are randomly generated. And since the quest targets are always created at the start of the quest, you can't get around it by killing every NPC in the game either.
If you are on the PC, however, you can get rid of the quest with this console command:
resetquest DBrecurring

Actually, you CAN 'kill' this string of pointless quests. Caution: some spoilers below. Like FeralChimp said five years ago, you can use setstage dbrecurring 200 . This forces it to complete, but then what happens is that the Night Mother calls you again for the NEXT contract (because it only kills the current contract not the entire quest). Over and over. But I thought to myself: can the programmers have made an endless loop? That would be lame since they'd start completely repeating. So I stood in front of the Night Mothers coffin, called up the console (`) and typed setstage dbrecurring 200 and hit Enter. It ended that individual murder/quest and then it went back to asking me to go see the Night Mother. So in the console, I hit the 'up' arrow to re-enter setstage dbrecurring 200 and again hit Enter. That would end the part of the quest where I'm talking to the Night Mother and I was again supposed to do the contract. I entered the same string AGAIN and hit enter and that ended the murder part. Over and over. The point is, every time I ended the conversation with Mother and then ended the contract by doing this, it would put me further down 'the list' of contracts. Yes, I did this about 100 times in a row, kind of quick. After some minutes, I realized it was no longer asking me to go see mother. I looked at my quest log and I had thirty four completed quests listed, and NO MORE new ones! Mother was done! I didn't have to kill one more person or travel all over the map and back, and I was rid of the quest being in my log as well as it FINALLY marked it as complete! :) Also, I decided to install and play 'Destroy the Dark Brotherhood 2' (by yuredew - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73582/) and that gave me 'closure.' It's a great mod with some great and fun quests (you better be pretty powerful or have several companions for it) and by the end I got to kill the whole lot of 'em! Sure, it was a little funky in that I had Cicero in my party and I had already opened up the Dawnstar Dark Brotherhood sanctuary since I had joined them, so I ended up with a second Cicero (who fought 'my' Cicero in a hard core fight until I finally stepped in and killed the 2nd Cicero); and it meant I had an entrance to the mod's sanctuary left with all the dead bodies and mass destruction, AND 'my' cleaned up sanctuary with Nazir in it, alive and well, but it meant I had been able to stop the madness and the murders and also destroyed the entire brotherhood and Mother and all its nasty villains except Nazir. This was my best option as I chose to start playing this thread at first but later regretted it but couldn't make it stop. I released Cicero from my party and just let him go back to his sanctuary and cleaning and oiling Mother's dead carcass. It might make a bit more sense if you already have him as a follower to let him go before playing this mod. Good luck!

I have an overall planned story for my character, part of which runs through the Dark Brotherhood. One of the first sets of contracts you do for them include killing one person that I know starts a small quest (very small in this case). I am wondering if I should be aware of any significant events that these contracts might remove from the game. Hover the spoiler to see the small one I mention above.
For what its worth, Google led me to a few articles on reasons not to join the Dark Brotherhood that all ended up being speculation, and a post on the gamefaq forums that also did not provide useful information.

One of the first people you kill is Narfi who's sister you can search for if you are not out to get him. This is a very short/minor quest (with not too bad rewards actually) however.

No, none of the Dark Brotherhood's quests intersect in any meaningful way with any other quest chain. Some targets may have minor 'radiant' quests available, but none are significant in any way.
The worst thing that can happen is you can end up with a very large bounty on your head, which could make completing other quests.. difficult at best. However, this is both a solvable, and preventable problem.
The only collision other than the one you've noted, is that
Vittoria Vici, the target of the main-line quest Bound Until Death is also involved in the incredibly minor quest The Spiced Wine.

For the side contracts offered by Nazir, none of the targets offer anything unique except for Narfi (whom you've mentioned). Some of them, like Betild or Anoriath, will offer or be the target of another radiant quest (mine ore, companions quest, etc), but Narfi is the only one with a unique one.
Some of these targets are vendors, but none of them are particularly useful to adventurers (Anoriath sells 10 random pieces of meat, for instance), nor do they have particularly large purses.
Finally, the Dark Brotherhood Radiant quests (after completing the quest line) use generic NPCs, such as 'Noblemen', so once you've completed the initial quests, you will not be tasked to kill random named NPCs.
My advice? Do Narfi's quest, then put the poor fellow out of his misery, as gently as possible.

I would say no, other than if you join the Dark Brotherhood, you very well can't Destroy the Dark Brotherhood.

Yes, it will. Blood on the Ice is a fairly major side quest taking place in Windhelm. I consider the quest to be pretty important part of the lore of the town.
Although most of the NPCs needed for the quest to initiate are marked as essential, another quest, namely the Dark Brotherhood quest Mourning Never Comes, will encourage you to kill Nilsine Shatter-Shield. Even though she is not related to this quest, her mother, Tova Shatter-Shield, will commit suicide if Nilsine is killed, and will therefore render this quest impossible to initiate.

The Dark Brotherhood Forever Glitch
The Dark Brotherhood Forever is a quest available in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This is a radiant quest that repeats itself indefinitely. This quest automatically starts upon the completion of the quest 'Hail Sithis!'
BackgroundEdit
I am now the Listener and leader of the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim. It is my duty to hear the words of our unholy matron, the Night Mother, and do as she commands..
ObjectivesEdit
- Approach the Night Mother
- Speak with the contact
- Kill the target
WalkthroughEdit
The quest repeats itself with the three objectives: Approach the Night Mother's coffin, speak with the contact, then kill the target. Unlike virtually all other contracts, in these, the contact pays in advance for the Dragonborn's help.
After eliminating the target, a new one can be initiated by returning to the Sanctuary and approaching the Night Mother. The Night Mother may contact the Listener telepathically with new contracts, although this is usually not the case.
Targets are randomly generated the moment the quest begins. Re-loading saves before speaking to the contractor can be exploited to gain a specific target. This may be useful for unlocking the 'Master Criminal' achievement or trophy without killing essential characters.
ContractsEdit
- A Blasphemous Priest in Whiterun
- A Corrupt Agent in Dragon Bridge
- A Desperate Gambler in Windhelm
- A Dishonored Skald in Solitude

TriviaEdit
- There is a way to remove or prevent activating this quest, for those who do not want an unfinishable quest in their quest log. This can be done by backing out of conversation with Nazir when he tells the Dragonborn to talk to Delvin to restore the sanctuary. Before he finishes talking, the Dragonborn should run to the exit and stay near the right wall, keeping as far away from the Night Mother as possible. If done correctly, the quest 'Where You Hang Your Enemy's Head..' should start, but not 'The Dark Brotherhood Forever.' Simply buying all upgrades from Delvin will finish that quest, which completes the Dark Brotherhood questline. Unfortunately, to ensure this quest is never activated, the Dawnstar Sanctuary can no longer be visited, as this quest will almost certainly activate. However, after the secret entrance upgrade is purchased from Delvin, one can safely enter the sanctuary through the tunnel. As long as the upper level near the Night Mother is avoided, the quest should never start.
- A far simpler method, would be to open the console and typing
CompleteQuest DBRecurring
. This will complete the quest without it restarting, as opposed to using the SetStage command. A side effect, is that the Dragonborn must never again approach the Dawnstar Sanctuary, as the quest will restart.
- A far simpler method, would be to open the console and typing
- This quest will repeat some of the same contracts/targets, as there are only a limited number of contracts/targets available.

- I would just try reloading a save from before completing the quest earlier. Since you're on a console, that might be the only real option.
